University Enterprises

University Enterprises focuses on creating the spaces and opportunities that support the university’s mission. The division includes units focused on capital planning, design, construction, sustainability, and real estate management and development. It also includes The University Corporation, San Francisco State (UCorp), a not-for-profit public benefit corporation devoted to furthering the university's educational mission. By co-locating UCorp, the university’s business partner, and Capital Planning, Design, and Construction (CPDC), the place-makers of the university, within this division, the university is positioned to work creatively and collaboratively to support the community’s needs in support of the academic mission and university’s strategic goals. The Office of Sustainability is an integral part of the division, demonstrating SF State's leadership and commitment to a sustainable future.

The division has five areas of focus:

Mindful of the unique delivery strategies required to support a robust capital planning program, the university launched this division to align its physical planning and development units with its real estate and entrepreneurial activities, which had been housed with the University Corporation. Entrepreneurial and innovative approaches will further the University’s ability to provide students and faculty with the resources and great spaces they deserve for successful learning and teaching, for research and scholarship, and for personal growth and community building.
